The Virginia Department of Education was awarded a federal grant addressing literacy improvements for all students, but especially students with disabilities at the middle and high school levels. One of the project activities is to support the planning and implementation of the Strategic Instruction Model Content Literacy Continuum (SIM-CLC) in four schools in the state to serve as demonstration sites for three years (2004-05 through 2006-07). The SIM-CLC program was developed and researched by the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning.
